If you are using a Samsung or LG Smart TV to stream IPTV, you will quickly notice a major difference compared to Android TV apps: there is nowhere to type in your playlist URL or username/password on the TV screen.
Instead, Smart TV apps (like IBO Player, SET IPTV, and Flix IPTV) use a web-based upload system. You must use your smartphone or computer to send the playlist to your TV over the internet.
This process confuses many beginners, but it is actually quite simple once you understand how the Device MAC Address works.
What is a Device MAC Address?
A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique 12-character identifier assigned to your television's network card. It usually looks like this: A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6.
When you open an IPTV app on your Smart TV, the app will display a screen showing two things:
- Your Device MAC Address (sometimes called an ID).
- A Device Key (sometimes called a Pin or Password).
These two codes are essentially the "username and password" you will use to log into the app's official developer website.
Step-by-Step Guide to Uploading Your Playlist
Regardless of which Smart TV app you are using, the process is identical. In this example, we will use IBO Player, but the steps apply to almost all native Smart TV players.
Step 1: Open the App on Your TV
Download and launch your chosen IPTV app from the Samsung or LG app store. Leave the TV screen on. It should be displaying a screen that says something like:
- "Device MAC:
xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx" - "Device Key:
123456"
Step 2: Open the Developer's Website
Take out your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Open a web browser and navigate to the specific website for the app you are using. The URL is usually displayed on the TV screen right below the MAC address.
Common portals:
- IBO Player:
iboplayer.com/device/login - SET IPTV:
cms.setiptv.com/set.app - Smart IPTV (SIPTV):
siptv.app/mylist/
Step 3: Log In to the Portal
On the developer's website, you will see a login box asking for the MAC Address and the Device Key.
- Carefully type the MAC Address exactly as it appears on your TV screen (include the colons if required by the site).
- Type the Device Key/Password.
- Click Login.
Step 4: Add Your Playlist (M3U or Xtream)
Once logged into the website dashboard, look for a button that says Add Playlist, Add M3U, or Add XC (Xtream Codes).
You have two ways to add your Flick IPTV subscription, depending on what the app supports:
Method A: Add M3U Link If the app asks for an M3U link, you will see a field for "Playlist Name" and "Playlist URL".
- Playlist Name: Type anything you want (e.g., "Flick IPTV").
- Playlist URL: Paste the massive M3U link provided in your subscription email.
Method B: Add Xtream Codes (Recommended) If the app supports Xtream Codes, this is highly recommended as it loads much faster.
- Playlist Name: "Flick IPTV"
- Host URL: Paste the server URL from your welcome email.
- Username: Paste your username.
- Password: Paste your password.
Click Save or Add Playlist.
Step 5: Reload the App on Your TV
Look back at your television. The app does not automatically know that you just uploaded a playlist via your phone. You must force the app to refresh.
- Use your remote to navigate to the app's main menu.
- Click Reload, Refresh, or Restart App. (Alternatively, you can close the app entirely and reopen it).
- The app will now connect to the developer's server, pull down the playlist you just uploaded, and display your Live TV, Movies, and Series categories!
Important Note on Activation Fees
Almost all native Smart TV apps are third-party paid software. They typically offer a 7-day free trial. After 7 days, the app will lock and ask for a one-time activation fee (usually between €5 and €15).
This fee goes entirely to the app developer in Europe or Dubai, not to your IPTV provider. You activate the app permanently by visiting their website and paying with a credit card or crypto. Once activated, your uploaded playlist will remain forever.
