How to watch IPTV on Windows using IPTV Smarters Pro or VLC. Enter your M3U or Xtream Codes credentials and start streaming.
Download IPTV Smarters Pro for Windows
Visit the official IPTV Smarters website and download the Windows installer (.exe). Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Add Your Credentials
Open IPTV Smarters Pro and click 'Add User'. Select 'Login with Xtream Codes API'. Enter your server URL, username, and password from your activation email. Click 'Add User' to connect.
Alternative: VLC Media Player
Open VLC and go to Media > Open Network Stream. Paste your M3U URL and press Play. VLC will load your channel list. Note: VLC has basic IPTV support only — no EPG or channel guide.
Configure EPG
In IPTV Smarters Pro, EPG loads automatically with Xtream Codes. For M3U playlists, go to Settings and enter your EPG URL separately.

Windows Defender or Firewall Blocking the App
IPTV Smarters Pro's Windows installer isn't Microsoft Store-distributed, so Windows Defender SmartScreen sometimes flags it as an unrecognized app on first run.
- If SmartScreen blocks the installer, click 'More info' then 'Run anyway' — this is expected behavior for apps distributed outside the Microsoft Store, not a sign of a corrupted download.
- If playback specifically (not installation) is being blocked, check that your firewall allows the app through both Private and Public network profiles.
VLC Network Stream Times Out or Won't Connect
VLC's 'Open Network Stream' expects the raw M3U URL exactly as provided — it does not handle Xtream Codes username/password/server fields the way a dedicated IPTV app does.
- Confirm you're using the M3U playlist link, not the Xtream Codes server/username/password combination, since VLC only accepts the former.
- If the stream times out entirely, test the same M3U URL in IPTV Smarters Pro first to confirm the issue is VLC-specific rather than a credentials or server problem.
